Friday October 3rd at Noon (est)

Every other week we encourage members, and those considering membership, to join us on a zoom call with their favorite beverage. It is our time to unwind, wrap up the week with friendly conversation, and get to know other Professional Chapter Members. Topics for discussion include everything from code questions to office policies, to architectural trends to which beverages we are partial to  – and everything in between.

Topic: Healthy Buildings

A "healthy" building is one that is designed, constructed, and operated to support the physical, mental, and social well-being of its occupants. It goes beyond simply meeting minimum building codes and focuses on creating an environment that actively promotes health and productivity.
A healthy building is one that holistically addresses these factors, creating an environment that is not only physically safe but also supports the overall comfort, productivity, and well-being of the people who use it.

For some, however, “healthy buildings” have become buzz words, diluted through over use like “going green” and “sustainable” buildings. The lack of a clear standard of what is “healthy” in a building, as well as the complexity and cost have left many in the BCA industry unimpressed – seeing it as another in a long line of marketing gimmicks. After all, shouldn’t all buildings be “healthy”?

Let's discuss the concept of healthy buildings. Have you worked on one, or are you interested in learning more? Join us to share your experiences, or simply come to hear what others have to say.

We are working on getting CEU's on these discussions.
