Friday March 6th at Noon (EST)
Every other week we encourage members, and those considering membership, to join us on a zoom call with their favorite beverage. It is our time to unwind, wrap up the week with friendly conversation, and get to know other Professional Chapter Members. Topics for discussion include everything from code questions to office policies, to architectural trends to which beverages we are partial toย – and everything in between.
Topic: Cost Creep
A 2019 white paper that looked at 37 construction projects found that Scope Creep accounted for an average INCREASE of $๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ธ and ๐ฏ ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต๐. The Project Management Institute states that ๐ฏ๐ฏ% of Projects experience scope creep.
What is scope creep?
PMIโs PMBOK guide defines describes scope creep as โadding features and functionality (project scope) without addressing the effects on time, costs, and resources, or without customer approval.โ Matt adds it includes items such as all owner-directed changes (even if they agree to the effects on time/ cost/ resources) and dealing with unforeseen conditions.
Meet with Matt Graves (the Construction Yeti) and learn what to do to prevent it and share your stories, too.
Join us March 6th at noon and letโs discuss this.
