It is our time to unwind, wrap up the week with friendly conversation, and get to know other Professional Chapter Members. Topics for discussion include everything from code questions to office policies, to architectural trends to which beverages we are partial to – and everything in between.
Topic: Sustainablity in Pittsburgh
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh is a global leader in sustainable architecture, featuring a "Living Campus" that bridges the gap between a historic 19th-century glasshouse and some of the world's most advanced regenerative buildings.
While originally built with 19th-century tech, Phipps has modernized its operations to include compu-terized climate controls and energy-efficient steam heating to reduce the carbon footprint of this historic landmark.
It is the only building to meet seven of the highest green certifications, including the Living Building
Challenge, LEED Platinum, and WELL Building Platinum.
