(International Fire Code.) The National Fire Protection Association has its own codes for Fire\, Life/Safety\, Sprinklers and Fire Alarms. The mid-1970s show that the US had the highest death rates due to fire in the Industrialized World. Between 1977-2011 the death rate improved by over 71%. \nWhy? Due to technology (smoke alarms & detectors)\, improved education (Stop Drop and Roll)\, changes in consumer safety (fire-safe cigarettes\, fire resistant products) and changes in Code. \nThere are so many factors that go into the fire safety code that\, of course\, we can’t go over everything in one hour. So bring your specific questions\, and let’s go over those.
